The symptoms

After her diagnosis, thinking well she is only anemic and certain that I did not want to go to the Doctor she had seen. I found myself in distress because of insurance issues. I decided to look for a Dr. and pay for myself. So I was trying more than anything to find a doctor I could trust. I found that a pediatrician that my kids went to when they were younger had his own practice. I contacted him and he told me he would be looking into my daughters anemic state. He asked us to feed her iron foods and to supplement he prescribed iron as well. He also gave her ibuprofen for the pain or Aleve for her chest pain. I then looked at the web and found out the symptoms of anemia by Mayo Clinic:

She had all the symptoms. After making her eat foods and medication she seemed better and with better color. But unfortunately, she ended in the ER one more time. Again, no blood in her system. So where was the blood going? The ER was not finding the problem ... they told us to make sure our primary physician to look into it. The ER put some blood in my daughter's body this time. Send us off...

She, end up in the ER one more time and they give her more blood. They did take a sonogram by the liver, gall bladder but did not find anything concerning these.

Went back to her doctor, he was concern for her and ask of us to do an extensive blood work (lab) for her. We went on a Friday to do this, and like I mentioned I was paying for it myself. I did not mind, by this time I was more concerned about her health and why was she out of blood. I waited for the results to come out on Monday, called the doctor and he did not return my call. I thought to wait another day, I called him and ask the receptionist to let me know if he had the results back and to return my call, she said he would. He did not. I was getting paranoid by this time, I called every day of the week, annoyed, upset... I wanted to go to his office but knowing I was short-tempered I preferred to wait for his call. Friday came about and said if he did not call me back that I was no longer having him as my doctor. He did not return my call. I was so upset. I could not believe he was doing this. I had put my trust on him after all the other doctors failed to diagnose her and not to do the basics to disregard any "other" situations... like anemia. He seemed so professional in my eyes, so caring, so human and all of that disappeared.

I called the insurance company, told the representative of my concern for picking out the doctors. I asked if they knew who was who, so I could make a better decision in picking out a doctor for my daughter. I literary cried fo two days because I was so frustrated in the system and in the lack of care from the insurance companies... and in my discomfort of not being able to trust any of the doctors because there was no background information for them. I choose one doctor after all... made the enrollment with her and hoped she will be able to help my daughter.

During this period, it was painful and with a lack of sleep for my daughter Celeste. This was during her summer vacation and the first month of school.
